Scholarship Requirements
Everything you need to know before applying to the Michigan Council of Deliberation Foundation Scholarship Program.
Eligibility Criteria
You must meet all of the following requirements to be considered.
Michigan Resident Graduating from a Michigan High School
You must be a Michigan resident and graduating from a Michigan high school in the Class of 2026.
Current High School Senior in Michigan
You must be currently enrolled as a senior in a Michigan high school and graduating in the Class of 2026.
Admission to an Accredited Institution
You must have been admitted to an accredited university, community college, or trade school.
Letter of Recommendation
A recommendation from a Masonic Sponsor or Community Leader is required. This can be a Prince Hall Mason, Eastern Star member, teacher, pastor, employer, or civic leader who can speak to your character.
500-Word Autobiographical Essay
Write about your background, goals, community involvement, and why you deserve this scholarship. The essay should be honest, well-organized, and proofread.
Application Submitted by Deadline
All materials must be submitted through the online portal by May 15, 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Required Documents
Prepare the following documents before starting your application.
Official High School Transcript
PDF format preferred. Must show cumulative GPA and current enrollment status.
College/Trade School Acceptance Letter
PDF or image of your acceptance letter from the institution you plan to attend.
Professional Headshot
JPG or PNG format. A clear, recent photo suitable for publication if selected.
500-Word Autobiography
Can be typed directly in the application portal or uploaded as a document.
Two Letters of Recommendation
Submitted electronically via the portal. You will provide your recommender's name and email, and they will receive a link to submit their letter.
